Brain Wave #7: Human plants?!

 Brain Wave #7: Human plants?!

HEAR ME OUT! Today as I was studying for my course unit "Physics of the Solar System" just by reading the word "photosynthesis" talking about the Earth's atmosphere , my brain just goes straight to the idea of human plants. Let me explain myself: as we all know humans evolved from animals, we are animals; but what if humans evolved from plants??? Animals would still be around and chilling, just like how they are now (kinda) and us humans were like plants that gained consciousness: of course we wouldn't look anything alike current homo sapiens, maybe wouldn't have eyes and mouths and ears and whatever else animals have. However we would have lots of other features like roots, chloroplasts,  light detectors, and whatnot. I guess we would be walking, our roots would be able to attach and detach from the ground and allow us to transport and stuff.

Thinking about this, I started to think it would be a much better world if this was the case, if you think about it we just survive by absorbing water and sunlight to survive, so natural selection would mainly occur for those places in the planet where plants life is a scarcity. At the same time however I feel that most of these factors would depend on which plants out there we would descent or be in the same family of. The latter would be very interesting if you ask me, like we can develop many characteristics that even just the family of trees have: bark formation, height, branch formation, holy crap you name it! The plant world offers so many other things even if you take one family of plants, just like if you take the family of mammals, or just monkeys and primates in the animal kingdom.

This also means another huge thing: the two main different types of "plant humans" would be land and underwater ones, which honestly would be sick as hell. We would literally have something like Atlantis forming, having two different "races" which are only distinguished by their origin. Going back to survival and natural selection, we wouldn't even need to industrialise or anything, because even if the population would be 8 billion "plant humans" I don't think that we would need so many "commodities" that we have nowadays, evolving through thousands of years also because the "caloric consumption" wouldn't even be as high as humans, we would just flourish...

Apart from the fact that this time we don't have to defend ourselves from carnivore animals anymore, but herbivore ones, so animals like elephants, rhinos and those would be our main problem, maybe evolution makes them end up to be much more aggressive against "human plants" therefore leading us to perceive them as we perceive sharks and crocodiles now. Also we would have to consider the worst enemy to humans: other humans, "plant humans" would be able to evolve to have abilities such as chemical defences, be able to release toxins, and stuff like that. So maybe we wouldn't flourish as we think we might, maybe we would just end up in the same miserable world of animal humans...

Okay, you might think that today's entry is dumb as fuck lmao, I wouldn't blame you, it's all a spurt of thoughts as I read one word, but honestly I found it pretty cool, this could definitely be a great inspiration for a book or something, which honestly I wouldn't be surprised if there was many books out there with this concept. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my silly thoughts, I might have been a bit late with this entry, but y'know I came up with a fun one!

Good bai for now, poposwag
